| Converted boards with custom domains not loading. | |

The issue: If your board has just been converted and you have added back your custom domain and set it as primary, chances are it is no longer loading. The solution: First, you need to log into your Admin CP. You can do this by surfing to http://s<server number>.zetaboards.com/<board name>/admin/. Now go to the Domain Manager and set change the primary domain to the one that has [Default] as the end. This will revert your primary domain name back to the original ZetaBoards URL. (I know it looks like you are setting what is currently your primary domain as your primary domain, but this is a bug.) Your board should be working just fine now. (If it isn't, please post telling me both your original URL and your custom domain name and I'll see if I can tell the problem.) In a few days, you should be able to set your custom domain as primary again. The reason: Not need-to-know: You can ignore this part if you don't care about technical reasons DNS caches. The old CNAME record, the one that lead to the IF server you where on, is cached at a number of places. So, when you surf to your custom domain name, you incorrectly end up on the IF server. That server tells you to go the the new ZB server instead. The ZB server notices that you are using a custom domain name, and send you there instead. Now, due to the cached CNAME, you are (again) send to the IF server, which tells you to go to the ZB server instead. In a few days, these cached records will be gone and it will be safe to use your custom domain as primary once again. If, by now, you think "I can just clear my caches, can't I?" then you are right. However, your members would also have to clear their caches. They don't have a way of knowing they have to clear the cache, though, as you have no way of telling them. will an announcement be made when this is so? so you're saying if left alone everything should fix itself? or wait for an announcement to switch the custom domain to primary? also could you tell me how to change http://s8. zetaboards. com/ boardname /index the text in red thanks |

hi... i'm facing the same thing as well. my board was converted last night.  i do have a question. since my current domain is pointing to the old IF board now, do i have to update it with a new CNAME and A-Record? if so, what will be the CNAME and A-Record? please do advice. thanks. |

Yes. At the very least your CNAME records would change from s#.invisionfree.com to s#.zetaboards.com. IP addresses used in A records also changed I believe, so you would need to check that for the server you're located on. As for an announcement, you're probably better off waiting until Monday and giving it a try. If it doesn't work, you can always change it back and wait a few more days. We don't control the DNS caches so we can't give you an exact timeframe. Brian |

You're probably going to want to hold off making any changes there as well. Right now anyone that uses your old IF domain, or your old custom domain should be redirected to your new ZB default domain. Changing your board's name now, would mean that anyone trying to visit from your old URLs would get lost. Once you get the custom domain up and working properly for everyone, then you might consider changing the default ZB URL. Just a thought. Brian |

Im having problems with mine the only way i can access my board is with this link http://s9.zetaboards.com/dog_lounge/index/ this says s9 but in my dns settings i have s1 i dont know which is right im totally confused my www.doglounge.co.uk link isnt working |
