We will no longer be providing support for those wanting to edit a pre-made theme/code they did not make, unless that person has express permission from its creator. The main reason for this decision is for the protection of the work of users who use this service. People make custom codes/themes in their spare time for others to freely use. Respect the work of others; do not deface it or claim it as your own. The owner of a code/theme are within their rights to report you and your board to ZetaBoards for infringement of our ToU if you have modified his or her code/theme. This includes failing to credit the code or theme author or editing the work to customise it for your board. For those looking to create a theme from scratch, we are still willing to provide assistance via a ticket or on the support board. Thank-you for your co-operation ![]() -The ZetaBoards Staff |

Due to three support topics being posted within the past 3 days, I thought that a simple blog entry wasn't enough. The blog entry only existed because I didn't want another pinned thread in here, but I'll add it to this topic instead. We do not provide support for 'skin prints' that you have obtained 'Skin prints' are a fancy term for 'graphic of an idea for a skin'. They are NOT considered to be a skin or a theme. Therefore we DO NOT have to provide support for it. Someone else make it? Go ask them how it'd be coded. If it's got quirky borders and a funky banner that you're having issues with, then it's actually considered to be custom content, and we are not obligated to help you with that. One can assume that if someone designed it, they thought about how to code it. If they haven't, then welcome to the main reason why 'prints' are so ridiculous. Just a basic theme with no quirky banner etc? Read this first. I did not spend hours and hours on theme related docs and making that topic for people to ignore them. People asked for them, I created them. You made it? Did you think about how it'd be coded? If you did and you get stuck, if you have evidence that you've actually tried, you can get help... because you've actually put some mental effort into it, and that is good. If you didn't think about how it'd be coded...once again, fancy borders and banners = Custom content, we are not obligated to provide support on that. Just your basic Zetaboards. Basically, if you're not going to even try with your custom content first, then I certainly don't want to help. The staff don't have to help with custom content, so why should we? I'll put in as much effort to help you, as much effort as you've been putting into your theme. Deal? Easiest thing to do? Create a theme from scratch. You'll know the limits, and you don't be stuck with a generic graphic that you can't translate into a theme. Don't try to run until you can walk. You'll only confuse and frustrate yourself, and that isn't terribly fun. Take your time, learn, and have fun ![]() If this post was confusing, then basically you'll either get your thread closed or you'll get help. If your thread is closed you've visibly not even tried. If you get help, then you've actually tried like everyone else who comes through this forum. This issue was discussed by multiple members of the support team with this outcome. |
