Why does IE hate me so?

Hey Guys,
I've been compiling a website recently as an extention of my forum.
I am at the stage where I'm testing cross-browser compatability.

I discover that IE, the most popular browser around (because it's default ><) is the only one with issues.
I've tried IE 6, IE 7, IE 8, FF3, Opera, Safari, Flock and even Google Chrome.

My problem is that IE does seem to know where the center of the page is.
If you have IE and another browser, view this link.
Notice the box at the top of the homepage isn't correctly centered (might just be me)

Another issue is the first news article, IE doesn't seem to recognise the wrapping round and image tool. Whereas all other browsers do. Found a work-around

So you know when giving support, I am using IE 8 (BETA) and making it Emulate IE7

Any ideas on how to fix this?
