Side Navigation Problem; Specifically Internet Explorer...

On my forum, we have a side navigation bar with various links and what not. It works perfectly in Firefox but, as many things I've come to find, is completely screwed up in Internet Explorer. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me what's wrong, what I could do to fix it, and/or any other method I could use for a side navigation bar. I'll give you as many details as I can below:

Basically, as I said before, it works perfectly in Firefox. In Internet Explorer, the index page looks alright, but whenever you go to view a topic, it has massive stretching issues, both height and width wise. This is what really confused me, that it looked okay on the index, but not in any topic...

Here's how I coded for the navbar in the first place: I basically made the whole board into a giant table. The header is in the first row, and then I have the navbar in a 2nd row with a width of 200px and the actual forum is in the same row. Below is the skin layout (I took out everything actually in the navbar to make sure it wasn't anything with it that was screwing it up, but it's definitely the table).

Spoiler: click to toggle

Below is all the CSS stuff that goes along with the above code:

Just a little more info. The main skin on the forums (link in profile: forum.theinstinct.net) is Instinct BETA which has the full navbar. I made a test skin called Instinct Test which you can view as well which I've been using for testing purposes (obviously).

Thank you very much for your help! :arr:

Custom code = no support.
This forum is also not for getting support for codes, but rather, support for coders creating codes. Basically this forum is pointless, but anyway...

This is the reason why I deleted the sidebar documentation. 99% of the time, it screws up in one browser no matter what way you do it. But despite me saying this, people keep getting the old codes off the Wiki and then wondering why their IE users grumble, or they ask for the code elsewhere. I'll also get the odd "you clearly can't do HTML properly Nicola"... hmm :P

Only option is to remove it. A lot of forums function just fine without stuff appearing on the side of the board, you'll cope.

Technically, the board expands lengthways just fine. Why not put some of that in the footer, or make an extra menu up top?

Nicola is right, i tried to help her fix the problems and none of them worked. My advice, just forget about sidebars. Find something better!!
